Multimodal mmWave–PPG Platform for Cuffless, Non-invasive Blood Pressure and Arterial Stiffness Tracking

Project description

This project builds a multimodal sensing platform that fuses near-field millimetre-wave (mmWave) radar with photoplethysmography (PPG) at the same tissue site to capture synchronized mechanical and optical pulse-wave signatures. The system extracts morphology-based features and applies signal processing plus machine learning to estimate continuous blood pressure and arterial-stiffness indicators such as PWV. A dynamic phantom, tuned for both mechanical and dielectric properties, supports controlled validation across diverse pulse-wave shapes, followed by human pilot measurements to assess robustness, calibration needs, and day-to-day stability. The goal is a compact, cuffless solution that enables reliable vascular-health tracking in real-world wearables and clinical research.
